It’s Super Bowl Time!
Are you hosting this year’s big game and are running low on ideas? Here is a quick list of our all time favorite Super Bowl snacks to serve at your next party!
It is my personal belief that true love can be found within the center of a circle sub. Sure, you could sure a regular sub that’s several feet long, but there’s something about cutting a piece of circle sub that feels as special as slicing a piece of birthday cake. In certain regions, it’s considered a lame move to have less than two circle subs at all football related parties. You can easily special order one at your local grocers or if you’re daring, could construct one all on your own.
Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños
These warm and delicious pieces of joy are a normal staple at all of my family parties. Four ingredients, when combine, for an appetizer that everyone will be talking about for weeks to come! Just remember to bake them in the over just before your party begins. They don’t take long to cook and are best served fresh out the oven… just make sure to warn your guests before putting down the tray.
Whether you serve them raw and chilled or steamed and buried under a layer of Old Bay, shrimp elevate your Super Bowl party to the Nth level! Being a life long east coaster, you grow up around a lot of seafood, so its easy to see these make the Top 5 list. If you’re strapped on time, you could always serve steamed shrimp with the shells on, but peeling shrimp, in my opinion, is a nice courtesy to your guests. They won’t have to bother with extra trash or in need a suitable seat in which to rest and peel. No matter what, always serve with cocktail sauce!
Mac & Cheese
The snack that can be found at every last family function and party of every variety. Make no mistake, Mac & Cheese is a forever food for a reason. It’s versatile and can be mixed in a myriad of ways to the point where your family holds a “Mac Off” to prove who has the best homemade or original recipe. This has seriously happened within my family on two separate occasions! Believe it or not, something as simple as well-cooked ground beef can add an extra layer of flavor you never though possible with Mac and Cheese.
Hand Blended Chex Mix
It’s hard to believe but a well-mixed bowl of Chex will go as fast as any of the other contenders on this list, but it’s true. You could buy one of the specialty bags that has random stuff mixed in already, but the best hosts always take a bag of Chex and mix it several bags of other goodies like chocolate chips, peanuts and other salty sweet ingredients.
